Pirates made it 28 goals in two games as they swept aside Kilmarnock Thunder at the Gallean Ice Rink on Saturday night to record a 10-0 whitewash.

The visitors were ahead after only 41 seconds, and with their lead being doubled with less than three minutes on the clock, it looked as if Anderson in the home goal was in for a busy night, and so it proved, facing a total of 79 shots over the 60 minutes, while Graeme Meechan in the opposite goal had a 14 shot shut out. Pirates were seldom troubled and enjoyed a comfortable night to take the two league points and continued to make up ground on their nearest rivals who have played more matches.

Once again, the goals were spread throughout the team, a factor which will have pleased Messrs Turley and Walker, the markers coming at regular intervals throughout the game, the period scores being 0-3, 0-3, and 0-4 to allow the team to knock up a second successive double figure score, and prepare them for the tougher of the two games over the weekend at Braehead Arena on the Sunday (face off 6.00pm), against an Edinburgh Capitals side looking to inflict a first home defeat on the Pirates after a 5-2 reverse at Murrayfield two weeks previously
